I need your help.

I have found a $15 iTunes gift card, and I want to know which CD I should buy!
I want your opinions, all of you out there in the blog-o-sphere.
From reading your blogs I know that you have some pretty good music taste, similar to my own even.

I want you to tell me what some of your favorite albums might be.
You know what? It doesn't even have to be your ultimate favorite. Those are so hard to narrow down, aren't they? At least for me.
I am going on a road trip on Wednesday so if you wanted you could let me know of your favorite road trip album, perhaps. One that you know every word to, one that you can sing along to at the top of your lungs.
I may or may not already own it, but that is not the point.
The point is that I want your opinions on my purchase.

Oh, and while we're on the subject. What is your favorite book?! I'm looking for a new read. I love all sorts of books save the scary ones. Since I do a large portion of my reading before bed, scary books get my mind racing at the most inopportune time.

Alright guys, ready, set, GO!
And THANKS!

  5. I would love to help!

For upbeat, simple, and happy music...you should definitely check out: "Love. Life. Ukulele." by Sophie Madeleine and as for books? I have not had the chance to read it yet...but I've heard that 'Water for Elephants' by Sara Gruen is divine.

I hope you enjoy if you so happen to check them out. :)

  8. "Deja Intendu" by Brand New, but you already have that probably. Any She & Him CD. Any Lights CD. I love love love City & Colour (Dallas Green = dream boat with dream beard)

As for books two I would recommend would be "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (So many good quotes and an interesting theme) and "Freakonomics" (if you really like interesting statistics about American society and how our personal lives play into our economy, this is a good read)

my favorite book is the wind up bird chronicles by haurki murakami, you should read it when you have some time (it's kind of a long one...)

You guys are speaking my language!

And for some of these artists that I didn't know before, thank you for sharing! Allie, you have a great idea. I really should just purchase individual songs and make a mixed cd, perhaps consisting of all of yalls fantastic suggestions. Hmm just a thought.

  11. Music suggestion: a local band from Florida called the Grecian Urns, their album is called Lovedream. They're SO good! (Also, I like anything by The Avett Brothers, Ingrid Michaelson, Glen Hansard, etc.)

As for books... I recommend anything by Barbara Kingsolver, especially The Poisonwood Bible, Prodigal Summer, and Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. Also Michael Pollan, if you like books about food. His are The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food. I also love classics like the LOTR series. And Harry Potter. If you don't love Harry Potter, I'm not sure if we can be friends.
