TV Woes.

Last night as I was going about the normal routine, catching up on my social networks, editing photos and the like, there came a frustrating occurrence.
I had the television turned on- I believe That 70's Show was in play- and all of a sudden a baseball game appeared on the screen. A bit confused, several thoughts passed through my mind.
"Boy, this must be a really important game to interrupt a syndicated show as it did." Then, upon realizing that I was watching an actual game rather than highlights, I noticed the "ESPN" logo in the bottom right corner.
"I don't remember switching the channel," I thought. "Nor would I ever willingly change it to such a station in the first place..."
Confusion mounting, I clicked the "GUIDE" button on my remote control, and that is when all hell broke loose. Though superficially everything appeared normal on the Guide, in actuality, channels were scattered and misplaced!
Instead of ABC Family, for example, VH1 programming appeared on screen at the click of the button. The Disney Channel replaced MTV, and Cartoon Network took the place of Comedy Central. In the place of TBS was E!
?!?!?
The only explanation that I could muster at the time was that the city was going through that incredibly annoying cycle when the channels change number in the sequence (I learned after the fact that this was indeed what was happening. Our TiVo just wasn't quite up to speed and thus, displaying incorrect programming). I was doubly frustrated at the entire scenario due to the fact that I had only moved back to town recently and had just begun to become familiar with which channels were which.

Needless to say, irritation got the best of me, and I turned the television off and read a book instead.
It was liberating.

  1. What book did you read? I'd take a book over tv any day of the week.

  2. I normally do too. Lately though I have admittedly not been reading as much as I would like =( The book I'm reading right now is a little different. It's called "What Should I do with my Life?" haha. As a recent college grad it has been pretty helpful thus far.

  7. I agree with everyone! I was actually very thankful that it happened. I had been reading this book for months now, and I just blatantly quit reading it due to a busy schedule. I'm glad that I picked it back up again.

And Suzy, The Office is really all that matters in life =)
