In Progress.

I have been debating about whether or not to blog for a very long time. Then, this semester I began taking an Online Journalism course that teaches about the importance of blogging in today's society- especially if pursuing journalism and media-related jobs.
So...I thought a little harder about it, but I still wasn't convinced enough to take the time to do this.

Last weekend was the turning point due to one of my customers at Mimi's Cafe (the restaurant that I have been working at off and on over the past year while at school). It was an older couple, and I had actually gotten the man's order wrong. You see, he wanted the Meatball Ravioli and I rang in the Shrimp Ravioli instead, completely my fault. To make a long story short, I was thankful to learn that this couple was a server's ideal customer- forgiving, happy, and they really took an interest in what I had to say. We talked about school and my future goals, and when I told them that I was a Journalism major the first question out of the gentleman's mouth was,"Do you blog?"

Well, now I do.

As the couple left they made sure to give me their e-mail address so I could inform them as to when I start my blog, and I want to let them know that I appreciate the extra push.

Little things can make such a difference.

  1. Hey Emmy: Don't really know what a blog is, guess just a diary of sorts. Am I close? Will the blog notify me when you make an entry or do i need to go check it occasionally? Thanks...so far your site looks great. LOVE from AUNT CATHY

  2. I adore you. I'm glad you started blogging. I am not a good writer, but blogging has definitely helped that to some degree. You really learn what to say and how to say it to make people WANT to read what you have to say.
this is my favorite blog. it's mushy-gushy-lovey and the reason i got a blog to begin with

    taza-and-husband.blogspot.com
